Echo

By R C Glenn

This is a novel that has been self-published and I was asked by the author to review it and I can honestly say I was really pleased that he did.

What can I say about this novel? Absolutely incredible!

Glenn mixes a variety of genres and produces what I can only call a masterpiece really. A crime thriller with a supernatural twist. Thrilling!

I was completely sucked into this novel and throughout Glenn kept me right on the edge wondering what was going to happen next. I literally couldn’t put it down!

He opens on a scene with our two main characters, Jackson and Allister, two private detectives. Both very different but equally strong characters we find out Jackson has been in the army whereas Allister is a computer whizz. Both facts are very important to how the character reacts to events throughout the novel.

Jackson is sent a news story very early on and discovers it’s from the future. And then finds it to come true. Strange indeed. We don’t find out till much later where these stories are coming from but it certainly begins the novel with a bang!

Glenn moves from one point of view to another with ease, usually as each chapter begins. It does not confuse the story but rather allows us to have a full view of events, leading to a complicated storyline being told in an uncomplicated manner. Bravo!

Chloe is another important face within the book – and here we are introduced to the more supernatural side of the novel. Her relationship with ‘Alice’ is so riveting. And we aren’t too sure what kind of entity Alice is. We are left guessing which also helps glue the book to your hands.

I don’t want to give away too much as it will take away from the ‘edge of your seat’ feeling that Glenn continues with. But trust me, it’s awesome. It’s Glenn’s clever way of drip feeding the reader just enough information to make you want to continue and you are begging to find out more that keeps this book fast paced and exciting from start to finish.

Another point I would like to make is Glenn’s brilliance with the editing of the novel. I did not find one fault within it. And his words flow easily from one to another. A natural born writer and story teller! For a self-published novel this is no mean feat.

It is literally unputdownable and leaves you desperate for the next novel in the series.

Give it a read. I promise you won’t be disappointed!
